Smiths Falls Police make multiple arrests – Intimate partner violence, mischief and outstanding warrants unveiled in recent operations!

Male arrested Intimate Partner Violence- Warrant

On Thursday January 11th, 2024, police attended a Lavinia St. address in relation to an Intimate Partner Violence investigate and a warrant for the arrest of the male suspect. The accused male party involved in the investigation was present and arrested on the power of an outstanding warrant in relation to the investigation.  The male party stands charged with assault (IPV) and failing to comply with release order X2. 

The male suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Male arrested Mischief and Breach

On Saturday January 13th, 2024, Police responded to a local business for reports of a male causing a disturbance. The investigation revealed a 38-year-old male Spencer COURNEYA was present at a local business causing a disturbance and in breach of his probation conditions and release order conditions. The suspect male had left the establishment prior to police arrival although he was located a short time later at another business involved in a similar incident. Spencer COUNEYA was subsequently arrested and stands charged with failing to comply with probation order, failing to comply with release order X2 and mischief.

The male suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Warrant Male arrested for Intimate Partner Violence

On Monday January 15th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police entered into an IPV investigation related to a 34-year old male party assaulting his 31-year old female partner. A female victim reported her male partner had been assaulting her. Officers located and arrested the male partner who stands charged with assault (IPV), and assault with a weapon (IPV).

The male suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Male arrested Outstanding Warrant

On Wednesday January 17th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police held an outstanding warrant for the arrest of 46-year old male Paul LAVERGNE. LAVERGNE was located and arrested on the power of an outstanding warrant for failed to attend court while on a release order on charges of theft X3, possess property obtained by crime X3 and use of credit card.

The male suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Male arrested Outstanding Warrant

On Wednesday January 17th, 2024, 25-year old Jeffrey HAYTER turned himself into the Smiths Falls Police on outstanding warrants for his arrest. The police investigation and subsequent arrest warrant stemmed from several Highway Traffic Act Offences as well as Criminal Code driving offences Jeffrey HAYTER stands charged with Flight from Police, Operate while Prohibited X2 and possession of property obtained by crime and 4 Highway traffic act offences.

The male suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

Female arrested for Intimate Partner Violence

On Thursday January 18th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police responded to a disturbance call at a Beckwith St address and subsequently entered into an IPV investigation. The investigation revealed a 19-year-old Smiths Falls female had assaulted her 18-year old male partner. The female was located outside the residence and was arrested for assault (IPV).

The female suspect was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.
