Carleton Place Spring Home and Fashion show cancelled

The popular Carleton Place Spring Home show, originally scheduled for April 8th to the 10th has been cancelled. This consumer event had grown over the years since its inception to providing dozens of local suppliers and retailers the opportunity to connect with new and old clients and customers, filling the one of the two Neelin Street Arena’s ice pads along with upper halls and meeting rooms.

A statement posted on the organizers’ FaceBook page stated, “After careful consideration with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Carleton Place has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Spring Home and Fashion Show. As the Province continues moving positively towards re-opening, we are optimistic that we will be able to move forward with a bigger and better show in 2023!”

One of the town’s team leaders on this file, Jenny Fluhrer told Hometown News the decision was a hard and sad one as the show was a great positive lead-in to spring and had become a favourite event for hundreds of area residents. She added that without a clear indication as to where gathering and capacity limits would be in April, there wasn’t sufficient time to properly organize the show.
