Individual Remanded in Custody, Not Released
(PERTH, ON) – A male, wanted on outstanding arrest warrants, faces new charges after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Perth.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, shortly before 5:30 p.m., a member of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check on the occupant of a parked vehicle and a nearby pedestrian.
While talking to the individual who had gotten out of the car and was walking nearby, it was learned that that the driver, who had fled the scene on foot, was wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants. It was also learned that the vehicle had been reported as stolen earlier that day.
A tip from a member of the public led officers and the OPP Canine Unit to a nearby location, where the Canine Officer and his partner were able to locate the individual, who was arrested without further incident.
Lucas YOUNG, age 35 of Perth, has been charged with:
- Obstruct a peace officer
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Driving without a licence
- Driving while under suspension
- Failing to comply with a probation order
These charges are in addition to the outstanding warrants.
The accused was remanded in custody following a bail hearing on Monday, July 14, 2025, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 28, 2025.
