Lanark OPP investigating suspected arson

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a suspicious fire in Tay Valley Township, southwest of Perth.

On August 29, 2020, shortly after 9:00 p.m., OPP officers responded to the scene on Stanley Road. Members of Drummond/North Elmsley/Tay Valley Fire Rescue were already at the location, where fire had engulfed a residential trailer and damaged an adjacent SUV. There were no injuries.

The Lanark County OPP and Lanark County OPP Crime Unit are continuing the investigation with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been consulted.
