Weapons seized in Smiths Falls Police search; one man charged following investigation

On June 4th 2025, the Smiths Falls Police Service with the assistance of the OPP East Region Intelligence Unit obtained and executed a search warrant at a local residence.

As a result of the search warrant, one male was placed in custody and multiple items were located and seized by police, including:

• 12 gauge sawed off shotgun
• Spring loaded edged knife
• Hand held taser
• Firearms ammunition

49 year old, Donald SPENCER of Smiths Falls stands charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm (x1), unauthorized possession of weapon (x2), knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm (x1), knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon (x2), careless storage of firearm (x1), careless storage of weapon (x2) and careless storage of ammunition (x1). The accused was held in custody pending a bail court hearing.

The charges in these matters have not been proven in court.
