Police search underway after breach of intermittent sentence in Smiths Falls

Smiths Falls Police issue warrant for 40-year-old male after discarded GPS monitor found in Beckwith Township

Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS) is asking the public to be aware of an ongoing investigation. Police are searching for a local man who is now unlawfully at large following a reported breach of an intermittent sentence.

MEDIA RELEASE:

On September 11th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police received information from the Ontario Correctional Service of a possible breach of intermittent sentence with a suspect. An investigation was commenced into this breach by members of Smiths Falls Police.

SFPS with the assistance of OPP Lanark County located the suspects GPS monitoring device discarded in a roadside ditch in Beckwith Township.
