Downtown Perth prepares for the winter season

Winter planters go in as the Town of Perth preps downtown

The Town of Perth and Downtown Heritage Perth BIA, with support from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244, will soon begin assembling the seasonal planters throughout the downtown.

While these plantings are typically scheduled after Remembrance Day out of respect for our veterans, the unpredictability of the weather may require the work to take place earlier in November this year. The Legion has been consulted and has given its full support for the early planting if needed.

The plantings will feature seasonal greenery and winter foliage only—without holiday decorations—ensuring that the community’s focus remains on remembrance and honouring veterans during this important time. Additional holiday-themed décor will be added to the planters following Nov. 11.

We are grateful for the Legion’s understanding and support. These planters help keep our downtown vibrant and welcoming throughout the colder months, and this year we want to ensure they are planted in the best conditions to last the winter.
